N5PA - ARRL RTTY Roundup Contest Results Page

ARRL RTTY Roundup:

This section contains the results of the ARRL RTTY Roundup contests I have participated in over the past several years. I hope that we have worked each other in some of these contests and I look forward to working you again. Maybe one of these days we can have an eyeball QSO!

2004 ARRL RTTY Roundup
January 3-4, 2004
Single-Op

In the RTTY Roundup I ran in Class S and Power B category. I placed first in the Mississippi Section, first in the Delta Division, and 28th nationally in my category. This was my best showing in RTTY Roundup as of yet. It is a fun contest to operate and is much easier to run than a voice or CW contest.

2005 ARRL RTTY Roundup
January 8-9, 2005
Single-Op High Power / Mississippi Section

In the RTTY Roundup I ran in Class S and Power B category. I was disappointed in my performance this year even though the solar conditions predicated lower scores. I did not run a good band plan. I made no contacts whatsoever on 10 meters which hurt me and 15 meters was not productive, either. 20, 40, and 80 meters were my productive bands but I could have done better managing my time. I only operated 20 out of the 24 hours and this showed up in my score and multipliers. I had 48 states, 10 Provinces, and 45 DX entities. I would like to break the 1,000 Q mark in this contest but it will be hard to do. I will have a hard time competing with the guys running SO2R and multiple towers and antennas. Not a real level playing field. I will work for 1,000 plus Q's next year even though conditions will be much worse.
