N5PA - ARRL Sweepstakes Phone Contest Results Page
ARRL November Sweepstakes - Phone:
This section contains the results of the ARRL November Sweepstakes Phone contests I have participated in over the past several years. I hope that we have worked each other in some of these contests and I look forward to working you again. Maybe one of these days we can have an eyeball QSO!
2003 ARRL November Sweepstakes - Phone
November 15-17, 2003
Single-Op / High Power(B) / Mississippi Section
20 Hours of Operation
I ended up winning the Mississippi Section in the 2003 November Sweepstakes Phone Contest. I finished second behind W5WMU in the Delta Division and placed 26th overall nationally. This was my best Sweepstakes score yet. It will be hard to beat as the solar cycle dwindles down.

2004 ARRL November Sweepstakes - Phone
November 20-21, 2004
Multi-Op / High Power(B) / Mississippi Section
20 Hours of Operation>
This year we ran a Multi-Op from my QTH. Those that operated were Frank Barrett, N5FFG; Mark Brown, N5NQ; Mike McCraw, KC5YDR; and Alan Clark, N5PA. The night crew left a little after midnight and the day crew did not show back up until about 8:30 Sunday morning. Everyone was gone by about 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon so I finished out the contest by myself. Everyone was tired and had a long week before the contest ever started. It was our best Multi-Op yet during Sweepstakes and we made 33 more Q's than my Single-Op operation the year before. Most everyone had good runs but we need to have dedicated times of operation and better band planning to move up in the ranks. We need to sustain Q-Rates of around 100 per hour if possible to be contenders. It was a fun contest and I think everyone enjoyed it. The next few years will be hard with the solar cycle dwindling down to improve much. These will be years that we can fine tune our operating skills. It was another "Clean Sweep" this year!
