This section contains the results of the IARU contests I have participated in over the past several years. I hope that we have worked each other in some of these contests and I look forward to working you again. Maybe one of these days we can have an eyeball QSO!
2004 IARU Contest
July 10-11, 2004
Single-Op/High Power/Mixed (A)/Mississippi Section
My wife Cathy just had major surgery and I was not able to spend as much time on this contest as I would have liked. I did not get started until 1600 UTC (11:00 a.m.) on Saturday morning and had to take many breaks to take care of her and fix meals. We also had company come over and I spent a good bit of time visiting with them. I quit at midnight local time (500 UTC) and that was the end of my contesting. I had a real good time when I was on and had some good runs, upwards of 110 Q's per hour. But the bands were not cooperative and Saturday afternoon was not good at all. I had some good CW runs that evening and it appeared that there just were not as many multipliers as years past. It was a fun contest, though and I picked up two new CW countries, Ethiopia and Market Reef!
