HAMRS POTA & FD Logging Software

A new Logging Software Package hit the market in early 2021 and it is called HAMRS! It is a POTA and Field Day Logging Program developed by Jarrett Green, KB0ICT. There are talks that he will be offering other contests and types of logging modules to this software package. And the best news is that it is $4.99!

What is really exciting about this software package is that it covers most Operating Systems. It covers:

The software uses LevelDB Database, which is a fast key-value storage library written at Google that provides an ordered mapping from string keys to string values. Most users will just log contacts and use the Export feature to export the log to an ADIF file. ADIF is the most common file format to share between various Ham Logging Programs and other databases like Logbook of the World and ClubLog. It is quick and simple to export your logs from a POTA Activation into an ADIF formatted file.

There are a couple of other features on the logging page. First you have a scrollable map to any part of the world that plots your contacts as you log them. A screenshot of the map section is below:

Another feature on the logging page is that there is a POTA Spotting tab. It defaults to a Business Card type format or you can select a table format, which I like because you have more spots available to you on a screen. Here is the a snapshot of the tabular POTA Spots:

This is a quick and easy logging software package for POTA and Field Day logging. It became available April 7, 2021 and POTA Activators are moving toward it in droves. It does not have a lot of bells and whistles like N3FJP, but it is a nice package to go out and Activate without the need for an internet connection unless you are wanting to see real-time spots. It is nice to see something fresh come to the market for POTA Activations and available on so many platforms and Operating Systems.
